Quality takes time.
At the pace of a snail.

Nuvò: cosmetics rich in hand-extracted, certified organic snail slime, 100% Made in Italy.

Our story

A 100% Made in Italy story

Nuvò was born from the desire to create a cosmetic line based on certified organic snail slime,
100% Made in Italy.

Quality down to the last detail, combined with respect for the animal, is the hallmark of our cosmetic lines, in which we concentrate all the selected active ingredients to achieve tangible results.

Our company, based in the province of Turin, has chosen to have its own snail farm, located outdoors among the hills of Lake Garda. We extract the snail slime by hand, with the utmost respect for the animal, monitoring the health of our snails.

Our choices

Four choices that take time

01

We collect the slime by hand

One snail at a time, with gentle stimulation under the foot. It takes longer than any machine, but it does not force the animal.

02

Every snail returns home

After collection, it returns to our open-air farm among the hills of Lake Garda. We only collect again once it has replenished its slime.

03

We filter twice, without diluting

Coarse filtration and polishing: two steps to obtain a clear filtrate, which goes into our formulas just as it is.

04

We use a lot of it

Certified organic snail slime is the most precious ingredient in our formulas, and also the most abundant. The percentage is stated on every product.

Our philosophy

Why “Regenerating Cosmetics”

A deliberate choice

In a world of cosmetics that promise everything, we chose to do one thing and do it well: help the skin renew itself.

Why snail slime

Slime is what protects the snail. It has a protective, film-forming and moisturizing action: that is why it is at the heart of every one of our formulas.

What it means for your skin

Regenerating, to us, means skin that looks more even, smoother and more radiant, day after day.

The raw material

The ID card of our slime

It is very rich in mucopolysaccharides, similar to Hyaluronic Acid: this is why it has a protective, film-forming, and moisturizing effect.

Questions and answers

Do snails suffer during harvesting?

No. The slime is collected by hand, with gentle stimulation under the snail's foot. After collection, each animal returns to the farm, where it replenishes the slime at its own pace.

What does “72% slime” mean in a cream?

It means that 72% of the formula is filtered certified organic snail slime. The rest consists of functional ingredients, such as Hyaluronic Acid, and what is needed to give the cream its texture and preserve it.

Why is the slime filtered twice?

The first filtration removes the coarsest impurities, the second makes the filtrate clear. Only after these two steps does the slime go into our formulas.

Where is the farm located?

Outdoors, among the hills overlooking Lake Garda, in Castelnuovo del Garda (Verona).

Is your slime organic?

Yes. The snail extract we use is certified as compliant with the Bio Eco Cosmesi AIAB standard by QCertificazioni (certificate no. 365/CA/2022).

Who produces Nuvò cosmetics?

Nuvò is a brand of Dulàc Farmaceutici 1982, based in Rivoli (Turin). The entire supply chain is Italian.
